The Phone That Rang After Midnight
Jake was on a long road trip through rural Tennessee when his car broke down near an abandoned gas station. With no signal and a dying phone, he decided to wait until morning.
Around midnight, his phone lit up — “Unknown Caller.”
He answered, hoping for help. But there was only static… and then, a voice.
Soft. Raspy. Familiar.
“Why did you leave me here?”
Jake froze. His ex-girlfriend had died in a car accident exactly one year ago — on that same road. The call ended, and when he looked outside, there was a faint figure standing beside the gas pump, staring right at him.
