The Last Bus

At 11:47 PM, Daniel realized he was the only passenger left on the bus.

The city outside looked strange. Streets he had never seen before. Buildings too dark. Too quiet.

He leaned toward the driver.
“Excuse me… this isn’t the route to Oak Street.”

The driver didn’t answer.

Daniel noticed something then—the rearview mirror. The driver’s eyes were staring directly at him through it.

But… the driver’s seat was empty.

Daniel’s stomach dropped.

The bus kept moving.

Slowly, the intercom crackled to life.

A whisper filled the bus:

Next stop… you.

The bus doors hissed open.

Daniel looked outside.

There was no road.

Just darkness… and dozens of pale faces staring back at him from the void.

And one empty seat waiting beside them.
